8 miniature tubes, approximately 27 pounds. Manufactured from 1969-1972. External 3.2 ohm speaker required but not provided.
“The Hammarlund HQ-200 general coverage tunes from 0.540 to 30 MHz in four ranges. The amateur bands are all bandspread. A BFO facilitates SSB/CW tuning. A Q-multiplier operates independently of the BFO.Other enhancements include: antenna trimmer, noise limiter, RF gain, S-meter, stand-by and AVC on/off. This radio does not have a built in speaker. There are 3.2 ohm speaker terminals and a headphone jack on the rear panel.”
This tube receiver is in good condition. The front panel on this unit is exceptionally clean, including the lettering. Tuning dials are yellowed and portions are faded, but overall legible. Top of chassis is dusty and switches and pots are noisy and need cleaning. The multisection electrolytic capacitor has had one section bypassed, but the new owner should re-cap this completely. The unit powers up and receives AM well when I hooked it up to my 132′ long wire antenna. Frequency accuracy is reasonable as is, S meter works but calibration not checked.
