We had another informative net tonight with 9 check-ins plus net control, Ken – KA6KEN and some chat room visitors! Tonight’s subjects included:
- Wondering why we’re hearing weak, other than local traffic on the 145.18 repeater. Answer: This time of year when conditions are good, you may hear traffic from repeaters on the same output frequency in other areas. Pasadena has a repeater on 145.18 and it was probably them.
- Boom in repeaters in the 70’s leading to boom in ham radio operators in the early 80’s.
- Pixie QRP transceiver kit.
- GMRS and PL tones.
Tune in to the SBARC TM&E Net every Thursday at 8:00 PM local (2000 Hrs) and see what interesting questions will arise or ask some of your own! All club members and visitors are encouraged to check in to the net each week and join in with questions and /or answers and contribute the knowledge of new and seasoned amateur radio operators alike.
