(Stewart – KG6BOV) Once again it is time for the Ventura Marathon over Sept 10-11 Weekend ! This is our 4th year supporting this Marathon — It is a Boston Qualifier.
Sept 10 is a 15 Mile / 30 mile (50K) / 50 Mile / 100 Mile Bike Ride.
The Bike Ride goes primarily up SR192 to Goleta and returns down the PCH Bike Path. Last year several SBARC members supported the various Santa Barbara area Bike Aid Stations.
Sept 11 is the 5K, 1/2 Marathon and Marathon running from the Ventura Pier to the Hueneme Pier and back.
I will try to arrange with National Weather Service to get us good weather this year. In the past we have needed 25 operators for the Saturday Bike Ride and 40 operators for the Sunday Marathon. We will need Bicycle and Vehicle APRS as well as Aid Station Operators. If you have a preferred position, let me know soonest
