General Information

The Santa Barbara Amateur Radio Club maintains a club station and several repeaters in the Santa Barbara area. The club station and all repeaters operate under the K6TZ callsign. All club repeaters are open to general use by licensed amateur radio operators.

The trustee for K6TZ is Bill Talanian (W1UUQ) who can be reached at (805) 964-7432.

Courtesy tones are used on all voice repeaters. The courtesy tones are as follows:

  • One Beep - Normal operation; the repeater is open to general use and standard repeater etiquette is expected.
  • Two Beeps - Club Net; access to the repeater should be made using the guidelines provided by the net controller at the beginning of the Net.
  • Three Beeps - ARES Net; access to the repeater is limited to ARES traffic only and is under the control of assigned net controller.

Autopatch privileges are available on some of the voice repeaters. Autopatch codes are distributed to club members with membership cards and are never to be given out over the air.
